Why pentax
I have sent it in again now and I am waiting I suppose it is just a matter of contact cleaning or something like that, but why did Pentax not solve the problem on the first repair? I had a Pentax MZ something or other and frankly, my interest in photography had dropped away to special events only, due to the costs of film processing, being dis appointed with the results, etc etc.
I was hooked! Hey, I could put it in my pocket, take it on the bike. This was pretty good My photography interest was rekindled big time as I could see my mistakes instantly, as well as the results. Once I held it, caressed it, played with it and realised my SD cards could be used, batteries could be purchased on the go something less to keep track of while travelling and my old lens would fit I was sold.
The price was a deal sealer. Despite what a small rowdy minority may say, I am genuinely very very happy with all aspects of the product and its gunna take something pretty good to get me to shift.
For me that's ages ago about half my life! I've bought many more since. Useability is another point. Of course I was already used to Pentax, so the DS came naturally to me. Handling and functionality - It felt better in the hand than the others and the ergonomics were excellent.
All controls were logically laid out and easy to access and were intuitive. Build quality - It is better built than the D no comparison and was as good if not better than the D Pentax lenses - I have always loved Pentax lenses and I believe that they are generally better than the other brands.
The top line lenses are beyond comparison IMO. Size - I liked it's small size and solid feel. AA batteries - I liked the idea of not having to use the proprietry batteries from the maker and therefore having the choice of using AA's in what ever form or CR-V3's. I have absolutely no regrets on it's purchase! The viewfinder is abviously better than the D70 or D. Is it worth the hefty price tag? We take a look at the Cine, the high-end model in this series.
