Who is before adam and eve
The Bible discusses the fact that all sin derived from a single first Adam. Jesus is referred to as the second Adam, supporting the fact that there was a single first Adam. The use of science has brought us many technological and medical advancements.
Yet, as a human activity, science is fallible and subject to human bias. It is interesting to note that there are reports in science which involve analyzing human DNA sequences and in two studies, the evidence points back to a first man and a first women from which all humans descended.
The mitochondria in every human comes from maternal inheritance. Many paleontologists who study human fossils believe that there were pre-humans. However, creationists are now analyzing these same fossils and believe some of these so-called pre-humans were actually humans who descended from Adam and Eve.
Many of the other so-called pre-humans would fall into a simian category or apes, and they were created as animals. As creationists, we believe the Bible is clear that all humans descended from Adam and Eve and therefore any humans found in the fossil record came from Adam and Eve. Many of these humans who are now extinct looked a little different than current humans, but there is a wide variety of body sizes and shapes among living humans and within the human races today.
In some cases however, the DNA of these other people groups is found in our DNA, suggesting there was some intermarriage also among these human groups. Is it possible in a young earth creation model an animal species in the ape group could have evolved into humans and mingled with the humans who descended from Adam and Eve? He offers a well thought out view of how the Ancient Near Eastern mind would have received and understood the story of creation. It is a helpful reminder that the ancient Israelites did not think of the world on our terms, and so the text should not be forced to support views with which it is not concerned.
His comparison with other ancient creation narratives Babylon, Egyptian, Ugaritic, and Assyrian offers good insight in the similarities and distinctives of the Genesis account. The idea that humanity is called to a certain function even after the fall and eventual resurrection of Christ urges us to consider our purpose and responsibility towards each other and the created order.
There are, of course, problematic areas and many things that will make conservative Evangelicals uncomfortable. Though Walton offers various arguments why this is an unnecessary belief, many will find his views unconvincing especially as they relate to the inheritance of a sin nature. Similarly, Walton fails to adequately examine the doctrine of the imago Dei.
It is one thing for Walton to say that Adam and Eve are chosen from among the wider mass of humanity; does this imply that the functionality installed in Genesis reflects a similar choice? Does God simply choose a location from the wider world in which to create order, functionality, and then the Garden? Does the Garden simply become another archetype: real but also representative? How must we conceive of the rest of the world beyond the Garden?
Along this same fault line is the entrance of sin and its results. Yes, the world is broken due to sin and subsequent disorder. Even the Eastern Orthodox, who believed Adam and Eve were created as immature, childlike-beings with the purpose of growing and maturing, would still affirm immortality and lack of death in the original created order. Walton does not make explicit arguments in favor of an evolutionary understanding of human development.
Even though, unlike Lilith, Eve was not created from the same clay, she still took undesirable initiatives instead of being humble and obedient.
In some proverbs originating from Europe, the ideal wife is compared to the Biblical Virgin Mary, who is presented as modest and submissive. Of course, Eve is presented as the antipode of Mary.
The legacy of oral traditions is a moral one: it teaches people what to do or what to think in a given situation. They formulate some part of common sense, values and ways of doing. Endowed with authority, proverbs, like other prestigious oral and written texts, present how things ought to be from certain perspectives. Although we hardly ever know whether the original creator of a particular proverb was male or female, we can consider the interests at stake.
What these interests are and how they are expressed in particular cultures rhetorically and thematically are questions to be borne in mind when looking into proverbs about women, which is what this book is about.

Ancient cities Archaeologists are now unearthing many cities that were already in existence in BC Fossils Archaeologists have unearthed thousands of fossils that look similar to modern humans, most called hominids , some dating back several millions of years ago.
Migrations and DNA By the time Jesus was born — sometime between BC 6 and BC 4 — every major part of every continent on earth was populated, with the population totaling about million people.
With the reluctance to move unless forced by climate or enemies, and facing almost unimaginable perils and adjustments, including sailing the oceans and crossing frozen land bridges, these migrations would have taken much longer than a few thousand years. Testing methods and apparent age More than a dozen scientific methods are used to determine dates of bones, artifacts and man-made structures uncovered by archaeologists.
Old Testament clues. It is silent about people before Adam except for some clues in the first four chapters of Genesis: The Bible says that 'for Adam, no suitable helper was found,' so God created Eve, which might imply that there were other people then existing God's words to Adam assume that Adam already knew about human sexuality and death When Adam's first-born son Cain murdered Adam's second-born son Abel , they already had specialized knowledge of agriculture and husbandry, probably acquired knowledge from generations of farmers and ranchers outside of the Garden When God pronounced punishment for the murder banishment to be a wanderer , Cain pleaded with God to protect him from people in other regions who might kill him Cain went to another region and married a wife Cain became a builder in a distant city.
Nowhere does the The New Testament specifically say that Adam was the first human being. Neither Jesus nor the Apostles except Paul even mention Adam's name. Paul briefly mentions him in I Corinthians 15 and Romans 5 but does not specifically say that he was the first human being, only that he was the first sinner. When the Bible is silent, we are free to follow historical and scientific evidence wherever it leads.
Archaeologists have unearthed many cities that are much older than Adam. By the time of Adam, some cities already had thousands of inhabitants. The archaeological finds yield not only objects but also rich history and timelines. There are now many scientific methods for testing age. Confidence is gained when different methods chemical, radiological, stratigraphical, dendrochronological, DNA, etc. Human fossils homo sapiens have been found which date to thousands of years before Adam.
The DNA of hundreds of ancient human skeletons have been sequenced and analyzed, and migration patterns plotted to show beyond doubt that people were traversing the earth prior to BC before Adam. Christians are failing in mission This chart shows that American Christians are doing the opposite of what Jesus told us to do Matthew Need to improve messaging One of the big reasons for this poor performance is poor messaging.
Stretching and adding to what the Bible actually says creates unnecessary push-back and argument, reduces confidence in the Bible and hinders our mission of making disciples. Read recent comments. Thanks for your comments.
Your thoughts are helpful to us. We are always learning. You are anonymous, so no tracking, and we have no way to contact you. This makes me better understand that you need to "dig deeper" in Bible study.
Great Information. I've been teaching these studies for some time to hopefully help Christians have a true biblical world view and not just a churchy world view. Glad yall out there. Just utter bullshit. Had to be people here before Adam, all the ancient buildings prove the civilizations were here. Many teens of thousands of years. Great job! Fantastic resource for believers not only to be able to speak intelligently in a time of waning faith, but for our own education and edification as well!
I am 75 years old. I was raised as a Roman Catholic. I have studied religions all of my life. I have so many problems with the Bible starting with Genesis. I agree with your assessment that Adam wasn't the first human on earth. The more that I learn, the less I believe in the bible and religion as a salvation. But I shall continue researching. O my how i wish i could find a friend would be willing to discuss the bible openly with me.
All bad things on the face of the earth are connected to sin , by one mans sin we were all condemned. I absolutly loved this! My daughter is a high school science teacher, and we are both christians. We had our own ideas of what scriptures say, and what actual physical science says. This brought ALOT to light! Thank you. I like that explanation it makes since it has scientific evidence to back it up. I stumbled on your website recently, and was impressed by the scope of it and the balance evident in it.
Found this to be very helpful. Answered my questions. Interesting and thought provoking, following a line of thinking that has interested me for years. To question traditional interpretation doesn't detract from the validity and power of scripture but reinforces it. Jesus was rejected by the religious experts of His day because He didn't fit the traditional interpreting of scripture.
We still have much to learn. I really enjoyed this article. I found it very insightful as well as challenging. Yes, I agree there is a lot of evidence to substantiate what you say. I have often thought about this myself. Thank you for all the research you have done. Humans were around a lot longer the bc. Thats not even as old as Sumer the first proven civilization. Evidence strongly supports that civilization may have existed long before Sumer.
Your site is full of heresy. I discovered this site while I was at work. I will take time out and read through it. I think it is very interesting and it's good to know so I hope and pray that I can and will be able to venture a little bit more.
Thank you and continue to have a blessed and prosperous day. Thank you for your good work. Great read very needed in this current time thank you.
Fascinating to think about. Here is something also to absorb. Let Us make man in Our image. Who is Us? Why not let Me make man in my image. Sounds plural to me. Thank you for the compelling argument Adam is not the first man:. Not bad, I'll have to check the Hebrew to double-triple check, for this kind of study the KJ is almost useless.
You are very much on the right track. I love this web site. I have always wanted to know more about what the Bible means. Please, please keep expanding this site. Thank you for this. It helps me understand my youngest grandchild age Also this affirms my teaching as a science teacher and pastor. God created everything that was created in six literal days. There are too many pastors and theologians who take the simplicity of God's Word and try to make it profound when they should be taking the profoundness of God's Word and making it simple.
I do not believe in a Supreme Being who created us in his image and likeness as quoted in the bible. I am excited to have found this site when I was seeking the truth about Bible timelines. I have been forced to justify my beliefs by a pastor who has a very fundamental belief in God's seven days of creation. Yes to have a intelligence conversation is of most importance. Only when ignorance, in the name of science, tries to be wiser than what scripture say, is when Gods Word is twisted, unto their own destruction.
Thanks, This is what I needed. I can't get enough of this marvelous study. FInally someone uses their brain instead of emotions to explain what I have thought and tried to say for sooo long. Thank you! I ran across your website this morning.
At age 50, I lead a women's Bible Study in Florida. I am at a place where I am questioning so many things about what I have been taught - traditions handed down for generations.
