Where to get obsidian ore in wow

As a lvl 83 warrior with blacksmithing and a mining skill of I gained exp per node. I will post more data on exp gains once my dk is lvl 82, will also post data on my exp gains as an engiineer not sure if this has any effect or not but hey its worth a mention Also while mining this in mount hyjal I have received blue gems as well as the green gems, after mining up obsidium ore in mount hjal I recieved 2 demons eye, 1 ember topaz and 1 ember jewel. No one seems to go there so there is little competition if any for nodes, seahorse swims around fast, and most of all the nodes respawn so very fast you dont have to swim all over the place looking for them. I didnt keep a time track till I realized how fast it was going and i went from ores to ores in about 50 minutes.

Comment by Barnacles Blizzard needs to up the spawn rate for these nodes. I've farmed for a few hours only to have 2 stacks of obsidium, and I was lucky. I go to Deepholm, and I come back after 20 minutes with 5 stacks of Elementium. It just doesn't make sense. Also, the phasing was really pissing me off. So many of those spawns are JUST on the border of the phase. And i am in a medium populated realm, i would hate to know how bad it is in places with high populations. The Spawns need to be increased, or ore requirement re-envisioned, because right now its a mess.

The spawn rate of veins in this cave seems to be affected by the overall zone population i.

There are 5 or 6 ore spawn points in here but you can see all of them as they pop on your minimap if you hang out in the right spot. EDIT: I've found that my ideal spot is to hang out about half-way up the ramp going into the main pool area. You can see every node that spawns and quickly get to just about any location.

The area is a relatively safe place to idle as the Barrow Deeps Watchers kill the assassin mobs that are found in the cavern. Unless you get really unlucky and one spawns right on top of you, it's practically impossible to aggro them and it's not as if they are hard to kill. In fact, I've had 3 nodes spawn in the time it took to write this post : NOTE: I have no idea if these nodes are affected by phasing like the others.

There's a nice, comfortable loop that you can make around Silver Tide Hollow, out east through Thelserai Temples, then south along the backside of Nespirah to loop along Biel'aran ridge, then north through the Tranquil wash to the start.

On three separate occasions, fifteen minutes of farming about how long it takes to do the loop twice , has netted me between four and five stacks of ore each time. Granted, this is on a low-population server, without any discernible competition for the nodes, but still. Significantly more efficient than anywhere else I've tried. I apologize if this was actually posted anywhere on the official site s , but I haven't seen any info regarding this yet. I can almost guarantee you that obsidium's chance to grant rare-quality gems through prospecting has been lowered significantly sometime within the last week. I'd love to read any official posts about this if anyone has links.

Couple with the fact that uncommons sell far quicker due to the advantage of supplying the rares market via transmutation, demand from freshly-geared 85's as well as JC dailies.
