I know some people use Ziplock bags to pipe on frosting, but that has never worked for me. I use them if I am doing a quick squiggle, but for something that requires more precision, I always opt for a Decorating Bag. There are reusable and disposable bags. Pick whichever works best for you.
Note: disposable bags are recyclable. The 2D is a closed star tip, so the frosting has to be extra smooth to go through it. The 1M is pretty much no fail. The opening of the bag should sit below the opening of the frosting tip.
Fold down the top of the decorating bag. I have seen people set the bag in a glass and fold the bag over the sides of the glass to fill.

Although I beat the frosting a full 10 mins and it looked fine in the bowl, as soon as I filled my icing bag and started going the consistency seemed to change and it looked grainy again. I will have to try again and just beat longer I guess.

I was experimenting with making cupcakes and frosting them. Made your vanilla cupcakes with the cake mix and the vanilla frosting. Everything came out just perfect. The texture of the cupcake reminded me of a poundcake….

Could you possibly tell me the tip for the Jumbo sized tip you used? I have the 1M, but have been desperately trying to find something slightly bigger. Thank you!! Have you ever tried freezing cupcakes to use for later? Any tips you can share on this? I have literally read a hundred tutorials on piping frosting and yours is by far the clearest and most helpful.
